You will practice the techniques and awareness that will give you the freedom to give new life and movement to the uniform objects. 
This workshop will cover a variety of solid foundational and advanced throwing techniques
that will allow students to achieve greater mastery on the wheel and gain the freedom to throw larger and more complex forms. In addition to throwing, this workshop will explore techniques and approaches to altering thrown forms at leather hard stage, pre and post trimming, and discuss the qualities of movement and balance.

You will be provided with 5lbs each of Amphora reclaim clay or bring your own choice of clay purchased from our studio.

Throwing techniques will cover:
● Second centering
● Getting more height out of your clay
● Advanced collaring
● Shaping from the inside and from the top down
Altering techniques:
● Ovaling bottomless forms
● Altering on the wheel and recentering
● Stages of dryness and alterability
● Trimming altered forms
● Multi step alterations
